Export Bank Statement — bank statement PDF to Excel
menu_bookFor bookkeepers

Catch-up months without the retyping

A new client with six months of nothing in the books. A bank feed that dropped in March. A card statement that never had a feed at all. You know the drill.

For bookkeepers, Export Bank Statement turns PDF bank statements into Xero CSV, QuickBooks CSV, QBO or OFX files you import and reconcile as usual. Every statement is checked against its closing balance, and if a figure is misread you correct it in the results table and the check runs again before you download.

The problem

The catch-up problem

Feeds are great until they aren't. When one breaks, or a client joins halfway through the year, the gap gets filled from PDFs, and that's where evenings disappear.

The usual converters get you most of the way, then leave you hunting for the one row they dropped. You find out at reconciliation, when the balance is out by an amount that doesn't match anything.

What helps

Built around how bookkeepers work

rule

You know before you import

The balance check runs before the file is built, so a missing page shows up now rather than at month-end.

edit_note

Five-second fixes, not re-uploads

One wrong digit used to mean starting again. Now you correct it in the table and carry on.

credit_card

Cards and banks without feeds

Credit card statements and smaller banks with no feed convert the same way as any other PDF.

account_tree

Several accounts in one PDF

Statements that bundle current and savings accounts are split, so each goes into the right account.

Honest fit

Is it right for you?

thumb_upA good fit if

  • checkYou fill gaps in Xero or QuickBooks from PDFs
  • checkYou'd rather reconcile imported lines than accept pushed transactions
  • checkYou bill per client and want a predictable monthly cost

do_not_disturb_onProbably not for you if

  • closeYou want transactions posted into the ledger automatically
  • closeYou need receipts and invoices captured too

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Will the imported lines reconcile normally in Xero or QuickBooks?expand_more

Yes. They import as bank statement lines, so you match and code them in the usual way. We don't post coded transactions into the ledger.

What if my client's bank isn't listed anywhere on your site?expand_more

It doesn't need to be. The converter reads statement layouts rather than working from a list of supported banks.

How is usage counted?expand_more

By PDF pages processed. A six-page statement uses six pages of your monthly allowance. A file that won't fit in what's left is refused before processing.
