Upload an Up Bank statement PDF and every transaction comes back as clean rows — date, description, amount and running balance — checked so the closing figure ties out. Export to Excel, CSV, or an import file for Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks.

Up is app-only and built for people who live on their phones, so its statements start out tidier than most — clean merchant names and a category on nearly everything. But a PDF is still a PDF: you can't total a column or filter a category inside it, and at tax time a sole trader needs the sortable version.

What's on an Up statement

An Up statement lists each transaction with a date, the merchant or payee, the amount and a running balance. A couple of Up features are worth knowing:

  • Savers. Up splits your money into named Savers for goals, and moving money into one shows as a transfer. Those stay on their own rows so money you've set aside isn't counted as spending.
  • Categories and clean names. Up tidies raw card data into a readable merchant name and tags each transaction with a category. That category can carry into the export, which makes separating business costs from personal quick.

Up runs on Bendigo Bank's licence, so it's a real Australian bank account with a BSB and number — handy when you're matching transfers across accounts.

Where to find your Up statement

  1. Open the Up app, tap the account, and go to the statements or documents section.
  2. Choose the month or date range and export the PDF. Up can also export transaction data directly.
  3. Save or share the file, then upload it here.

Because Up generates the PDF itself, the text is clean and the conversion is exact. If you've been forwarded a scan or a screenshot, the converter reads it with OCR.

Getting it into your spreadsheet or books

  • Excel or Google Sheets — one row per transaction with real numbers, ready to total, filter or pivot by category.
  • Xero or MYOB — an import-ready file so the lines land as bank entries to reconcile.
  • QuickBooks, Zoho and others — the same clean data in each one's format.

Every figure is reconciled before download: opening balance, plus money in, minus money out, has to equal the closing balance. With Savers moving money around, that check confirms a transfer to savings wasn't read as an expense.

Common snags with Up statements

  • Saver transfers read as spending. Money moved into a Saver stays separate from your day-to-day total.
  • Categories preserved. Up's category on each transaction can carry into the export for quick sorting.
  • Emoji and symbols in names. Up's playful merchant labels are handled without breaking the row.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert an Up statement to Excel for free?keyboard_arrow_down

Yes. Upload the PDF and get a clean Excel or CSV back free to start, with the running balance checked so it reconciles.

Do Up's Savers show up correctly?keyboard_arrow_down

Yes. Money moved into or out of a Saver appears as a transfer, and the converter keeps it on its own row, so the statement still reconciles to one account balance.

Where do I get my Up statement?keyboard_arrow_down

In the Up app: open the account, go to statements, pick the period and export the PDF. Because Up is app-based, that PDF is already clean and converts without a scan.

Can I import it into Xero or MYOB?keyboard_arrow_down

Yes. Export an import-ready file and the transactions arrive as statement lines you reconcile as usual in Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks.

Does it read a scanned Up statement?keyboard_arrow_down

Yes, with OCR — though it's seldom needed. Because Up is app-only, the statement you export is already a clean digital PDF that converts on its own.
