bolt

Upload a Wise statement PDF and every transaction comes back as clean rows — date, description, amount, fee and balance — checked so the closing figure ties out. Export to Excel, CSV, or an import file for Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho or FreeAgent.

Wise is built around holding money in many currencies at once, and that's what makes its statements different. A freelancer paid in dollars, a business paying euro suppliers, someone living between two countries — they'll hold several balances in one Wise account, each producing its own statement. Keeping those currencies apart is the whole job when you convert.

What's on a Wise statement

A Wise statement lists each transaction with a date, a description, the amount and a running balance, plus one thing most banks don't show: the fee. A few details matter:

  • One statement per currency. Wise generates a separate statement for each currency balance, so your GBP and USD balances each have their own document and their own opening and closing figures. The converter keeps them separate rather than adding pounds to dollars.
  • The mid-market rate. When you convert between currencies, Wise applies the mid-market rate and charges a visible fee. Both the converted amount and the fee land on the statement, and both are kept so your costs are accounted for, not hidden.
  • Clean payee detail. Transfers show the recipient and reference, card payments the merchant, so descriptions are legible from the start.

Where to find your Wise statement

  1. Open the Wise app or log in at wise.com, go to the account, and open Statements (under Balances or the account menu).
  2. Choose the currency balance and the date range, and export the PDF. Wise can also produce a CSV.
  3. Wise Business accounts find statements the same way under the business profile.

Because Wise generates the PDF itself, the text is clean and the conversion is exact. If you've only been sent a scan or a screenshot, the converter reads it with OCR.

Getting it into your spreadsheet or books

  • Excel or Google Sheets — one row per transaction with real numbers, fees included, ready to total and filter.
  • Xero, QuickBooks or FreeAgent — an import-ready file so the lines land as bank entries to reconcile.
  • Zoho and others — the same clean data in each one's format.

Every figure is reconciled before download, per currency: each balance's opening figure, plus money in, minus money out and fees, has to reach its closing figure. With balances in several currencies, that per-currency check is what stops a conversion quietly throwing one of them off.

Common snags with Wise statements

  • Currencies added together. Each currency keeps its own statement and balance, so amounts aren't summed across exchange rates.
  • Fees dropped. Wise's visible fee on each transfer or conversion is kept, so your true cost is on the sheet.
  • Business accounts. Wise Business statements use the same layout, so the same conversion works.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert a Wise statement to Excel for free?keyboard_arrow_down

Yes. Upload the PDF and get a clean Excel or CSV back free to start, with the balance checked so it reconciles.

How does it handle my multi-currency Wise account?keyboard_arrow_down

Wise produces a separate statement per currency. The converter keeps each currency's transactions and balance apart, so a GBP balance and a USD balance aren't blended into one column.

Are the Wise fees included?keyboard_arrow_down

Yes. Wise shows a fee on transfers and conversions, and the converter keeps it on the transaction, so your costs are on the spreadsheet rather than lost.

Does it handle Wise Business statements?keyboard_arrow_down

Yes. Wise Business uses the same per-currency statement layout as a personal account, so each currency balance converts the same way — useful at year-end for a business holding money in several currencies.

Does it read a scanned Wise statement?keyboard_arrow_down

Yes, with OCR. A statement exported straight from Wise will convert faster and cleaner than a scan or screenshot.
